Oscar is Finished!

UPDATE @ 4pm: Oscar is in his new room. It's the Truama Nursing unit room 1039 Bed 1. Said he feels okay but is very tired and ready to sleep! I'm going to stop by for a few minutes on my wya home and then let the poor guy get some rest.

I couldn't stand the suspense so I headed to the hospital around 7am.

They took him in right at 7:30 and he was done at 10:15ish.... it was longer than expected because once inside they found he still had a slightly inflamed appendix and residual gunk from the rupture last month. They were able to do everything LAP so that is awesome news!

He is still in recovery until between 5 & 7 tonight and then they will send him to a room. The doctor said that as long as there's no fever and he can keep down solids tomorrow morning he can go home!

They let me go in for about 15 minutes... he looks great. Seriously, he has good color, is breathing well and has some pain and nausea but it's minimal... he looks so much better than when he had the rupture. He made a few jokes, wanted a few kisses and then I left so Becca could come in to see him.

We decided to go home and back to work because they won't let us stay in there with him for more than a few minutes at a time....

Side Note: the waiting room for recovery is shared by the trauma ICU. There was a family there this morning of a young man named "Brandon". He is in an extreme critical condition and his family is devastated. There was so much grief and sorrow, you coudl feel it roll aroudn the room. I didn't ask for any details and only had the opportunity to pray with them for a few minutes but please take a moment now and ask God to protect this family.... they are hurting in a huge way.
